Daughter-Sister-Friend-Wife-Mom-Artist-Teacher-Quester of Inspiration
I am thrilled you stopped in for a visit & I greatly appreciate your interest in me & my creative endeavors.
here is a small excerpt from the story of me.....
My life's journey started over 32 years ago in Denver Colorado but my true creative journey started six years ago........
Even though, I have been making things since I was a kid I never thought of myself as an artist. I would create here and there, nothing major really, I would just fool around for fun. A few years back though and as I neared my thirties I started noticing that something really big was missing from my life. In 2005, I was given a gift of some jewelry design books and something happened... I guess you can say that I heard my creative voice calling out, well maybe more like screaming out, and that was it. I knew for my own sanity it was time to be an artist and to think of myself as one.
Over these past few years my art focus has swung in many different directions but I am finding my way, finding my talents, finding my place and there is no turning back now. Like many others I am a totally self-taught and honestly I still have so much to learn. I take little classes here and there- online and in person, I read books and learn new techniques by much trial and error- but I keep going and keep trying. That is the life of an artist.
My life path has also taken me in many different directions but right now I am blessed to be a full-time artist/designer, full-time wife and full-time mom. I wouldn't have it any other way. I currently live in North Carolina with my very supportive husband, our extremely talented son and two of the cutest Boston Terriers in the world.
My days are generally spent running the house, home-schooling and working on my art. My work includes mixed-media paintings and jewelry. I truly love making things and honestly I get a bit down if a day goes by that I don't get to. Creating has now become my therapy, my release. There is nothing more wonderful and freeing then watching your art slowly come together and then joy of seeing the finished results.
I call myself a quester of inspiration and look for it in every aspect of life from the biggest to the simplest thing. I want my work to reflect what inspires me- what I am feeling at the moment I create it and I strongly feel that true artistry is finding who your are and making your own unique mark in the world.
I am lover of many things but a great lover of God, family, friends, my dogs, quiet folk music, birds, blue skies and trees............
I hope that you enjoy my work and that you will visit again soon....
